So now it’s official! Today we sealed the deal with our local Chevy dealer and ordered a 2013 Chevy Volt. The photo here is a pretty good representation of what it should look like when delivered. The color is called Blue Topaz Metallic and I am really looking forward to seeing the car in this color. I think it is going to look fabulous. The salesman seems pretty anxious to see the Volt in this color as well.
After taking a test drive a few weeks ago and doing some shopping and thinking, we decided to place an order rather than taking one of three Volts they had on the lot. None of them had just the right mix of features we wanted in the car. One was maxed our with all the options (a little too pricy with features we weren’t interested in) and others might have fit the bill except the color choices really didn’t fit our tastes. So we order and wait…
Cool thing is the dealer gave us the order number which we can plug into the Chevy website and follow the progress of our order and the building or our car. Very fun.
If you’re really familiar with the Chevy Volt you might recognize that the wheels in the photo above don’t look stock. You would be right. Those are after-market wheels we will be putting on the Volt. I’ve checked the specs with my Chevy dealer and it should work out perfectly. In fact, the dealer is going to install the wheels for me as soon as the car is delivered. The wheels are coming from Tire Rack and can be found here. I looked at the wheel upgrades available from Chevy and none of them really looked all that great to me. I’ve ordered tires and wheels from Tire Rack in the past and they are always top notch. They’re going to be great.
So now, we wait… and check that order status on the Chevy website! Tick-tock, tick-tock.
